Product Description - Recent Enhancements
The latest release of the eTakeoff Plan Viewer is version 2.02.35.
It contains the following enhancements:
- Support was added for the MIME electronic planroom interface
- The size of the tree drop-down window in the
Item Assignment Toolbar is now remembered.
- The Copy/Paste and Drag/Drop logic has changed.
When a rectangle of cells is selected in the Quantity
Worksheet or the Measurement List, the text copied
or dragged is a tab-delimited string of the selected
cells rather than the text of the focus cell.
- Project Export/Import files and Template files
now contain layer information. When a project
or a template is imported, missing layers will
be added.
- When the Quantity Worksheet or the Measurement List
is opened for the first time, the focus is moved
to the first cell. If the focus was NOT on a cell,
Edit/Copy would not put anything on the clipboard.
- On annotations, the last font and font size settings
are now duplicated for the next annotation added.
- When a text, line, rectangle or oval annotation is
completed, select mode is set automatically.
- In the Quantity Worksheet and the Measurement List,
the Edit/Copy command will copy the selected rectangle
of cells (if any) to the clipboard using the CSV format.
- Support for the functions Sqrt (square root),
Tan (Tangent), ArcCos, ArcSin and ArcTan (arc cosine,
sine and tangent) was added to formulas.
- The shortcut key Ctrl/L was added to display the
Layer Window.
- In the Layer Window, you can hold down the Control
(Ctrl) key while clicking a button to have the
command applied to all layers.
Earlier releases of versions 2.02 and 2.01 contained the following enhancements:
- The Measurement List was added. This is a list of all the
measurements in a project. Columns in the list include
Description, Drawing, Layer, Quantity, Quantity Type, Trace
and Unit of Measure. The list can be sorted by any column.
Cells in the list can be dragged and dropped to other applications.
Measurements in the list can be dragged and dropped
to the Quantity Worksheet.
- The eTakeoff Excel Add-in was added. This provides
Excel functions that extract quantities from eTakeoff
measurement and worksheet quantities. You can also
drill-down from Excel to display the measurement
or worksheet item referenced by the function.
- Batch Downloading was added. For integrated planrooms
(BB-Bid, BidTool and iSqFt), this allows background
downloading of multiple drawings while viewing
and taking measurements in the main window.
- Support was added for downloading files from different
folders in one group.
- Support was added for PDF file permissions.
- The ActiveX control used for interfacing with planrooms
is now signed.
- The installation setup files are now signed.
- The TIFF file requirements were loosened to support
files with limited information.
- When the drawing list or project list is displayed, the current
selection is scrolled to the top of the list.
- Any time a drawing which is not part of a project is closed,
the user is optionally prompted to save the drawing as part of a project.
- When creating a project by saving a drawing, there is now
an option to scan the project folder for additional files.
- License emulation was added at all levels. This allows
demonstration licensees to evaluate either Pro or Premier
functionality.
- The trace selection list is now optionally displayed
whenever a new measurement is created.
- An option was added to use the F2 key to invoke editing in the
Measurement List and the Quantity Worksheet.
- Added option to adjust line sizes when printing.
- Licensing added for Pro Purchase and Premier Subscription.
- When a drawing file is missing, an option was added to
search for the file or delete it from the project.
- This version includes a component to support integration of eTakeoff
with electronic planrooms. The component must also be supported by the planroom.
BB-Bid, BidTool and iSqFt now support this integration.
- User-defined units of measure were added in the quantity worksheet.
If you have a unit we don't support (such as cords, boxes, etc.),
you can enter the description and it will display in the quantity worksheet.
- Drawing Comparison was added. Two drawings are digitally overlaid.
Unchanged lines are black, deleted lines are red and added lines are blue.
This powerful new feature allows you to:
- Compare a revised plan to the original and quickly see the differences.
- Compare different floors in multi-story buildings.
- Compare a model to an actual unit in residential construction.
- Compare construction drawings to those used for bid preparation.
- Document changes during dispute resolution.
- Copy measurements from one drawing to another. Quantity Worksheet
assignments can be copied too.
- Select multiple measurements and/or annotations to change or delete
them all in one step. For measurements you can change traces and descriptions.
For annotations you can change descriptions, colors, fonts, font sizing,
layers and line thickness.
- Bitmap extraction was added for PDF files containing a single bitmap.
This improves the display speed.
- A Negative warning fill pattern was added. This pattern (which can be disabled)
is displayed when a measurement is digitized in a counter-clockwise direction,
causing the area to be computed as a negative quantity.
- A Drawing Dimensions Window was added to display the size
and resolution of the current drawing.
- Trace Freezing was added to freeze the trace for a measurement.
A frozen trace will not be overridden when the measurement is assigned
to a Quantity Worksheet item.
- In the Quantity Worksheet, context menu options were added to
quickly show or hide assignments and child items.
Hiding assignments is useful when copying multiple items to Excel
or other applications.
